Southern Counties Tea and Coffee are a family business who have been supplying the catering trade with tea, coffee and almost anything else they need for the last 30 years.
The growth of online retailers and the expansion of the major cash and carry chains had eaten into Southern Counties business. They had not kept up to date with their marketing with the result that turnover has been declining for several years. They needed someone to take control of their marketing and grow turnover but on a very tight budget.
Southern Counties had no web presence at all. The first priority was to create a website. I wrote all the text and oversaw the design and build of a new site.
We then needed to drive traffic to the site which I did via a Google Adwords campaign. Working with a limited budget, we regularly generated a click through rate above 10%
I then bought a database of appropriate caterers and implemented a regular email marketing campaign – mixing special offers with educational information. This has been backed up a direct marketing.
I’ve also used a campaign of Free offers, marketed via Adwords and email to the database, sending prospects to a sign up landing page. This activity alone has generated over 50 leads for their sales team to convert.
- The free coffee campaign by itself has generated to date 52 leads.
- The Adwords activity generates 3-4 new enquiries every week.
- More intangibly, becoming active again within the market place, has dramatically raised Southern Counties profile within the catering community within Surrey and Sussex.
